Working together at Barrick Goldstrike

When the management at Barrick?s Goldstrike mine began looking at upgrading its equipment fleet, they decided to take a step back and examine the process ? not just the price of each machine. What began as the need for new capital equipment has become a new philosophy on how Barrick can maximize its investment throughout the life of that equipment.

It started as a concept. The new mine manager, Joe Dick, looked at how equipment was being purchased and challenged his management team to look for a better approach. ?We can make anyone?s equipment do the job. What we wanted was a supplier who could help us get better,? affirms Dick.
