Latest Roofex bolt sets new standard

Able to absorb rock movement and still provide reliable support is the key feature of the Roofex rock bolt series from Atlas Copco. The latest version of this innovative bolt, the Rx20 has performed well in laboratory tests, proving its 20-tonne rating and ability to absorb 60kJ of energy caused by rock movement.

“The mining industry is facing new challenges to extract mineral resources at increasing depths and effective bolting is a big issue in this respect,” says Millan Herce, Rock reinforcement specialist, Atlas Copco.

“Our customers told us that they appreciated the eight-tonne rates Rx8, but they also said they needed a much higher capacity for extremely difficult areas and depths,” adds Herce. “The result is the Roofex Rx20.”
