SDA’S – the quick answer to slope stabilization

1970 Jan 01

While installing the foundation piles of a new riverside apartment block in the small French town of La Roche
Sur Foron, signs of movement were noted in the slopes of the excavation. A quick and effective solution was needed.

To protect the proposed apartment block, it was necessary to stabilize the slopes behind the site, and in order to protect the buildings along the rim, underpinning would be required. As construction was already underway, the remedy would have to be reliable and quick. Just two months were allocated to a specialist subcontractor to install the necessary piles and secure the slope. Grouted MAI SDA was the designer’s to retain the slope and support the buildings.
