Turkish delight as ROC F6 boosts production

Turkish contractor Ozturk Yapi needed to find a way to increase its monthly production capacity of 165,000 tonnes. Careful investigation led the company to the perfect solution.

Ozturk Yapi specializes in drilling, blasting, loading and transportation contracts for cement factories. Established in 1982, it started drilling operations with two locally made wagon drills but found that it needed to increase its drilling capacity as business developed.

While the wagon drills struggled to meet production targets and suffered from downtime, Ozturk Yapi started to search for modern, advanced drilling equipment technology with high production capabilities. The company researched different manufacturers? products which gave a good overview of the various models available. However, it soon arrived at the fundamental question: which is the best method to use ? tophammer or down-the-hole drilling?

?Our long-term investigation resulted in us choosing the down-the-hole method, and we reduced the number of possible models to either an Atlas Copco ROC F6 or a well-known competitor?s rig,? says owner Ali Ozturk.

Epiroc operated under the trademark “Atlas Copco” prior to January 1, 2018.
