Round-the-clock for Ghana’s gold

Full service contract keeps ROC L8 rigs running at Iduapriem
The Iduapriem gold mine, about 70 km north of Takoradi on the coast of Ghana, is a round-the-clock operation. That?s why nothing less than a 24/7 aftermarket support system is required to keep the mine?s drill rig fleet up and running.
The Iduapriem Mine, majority owned by Anglo Gold Ashanti, is in many ways typical of the demands now being made on equipment suppliers.
Here, contractor Taywood Mining, a division of Taysec Construction Ltd., Ghana?s leading construction company, is operating a fleet of seven Atlas Copco ROC L8 DTH drill rigs for both development and production work.
Epiroc operated under the trademark “Atlas Copco” prior to January 1, 2018.
