ROC L830 joins GTI’s winning team

2007 Jan 14

The ROC L8 series of drill rigs has been a popular choice for surface drilling applications worldwide since its introduction in 1999. The latest version, the ROC L830, with its 30 bar compressor, is proving equally popular. Geological Technologies (GTI) was the first US company to add the new rig to its fleet. M&C went to West Virginia to find out why.

With close to 80 employees, GTI has ambitious plans for growth based on its core activities of distributing blasting materials, engineering consultancy, safety training and drill and blast services.

Although GTI ? based in Falling Waters, West Viginia ? offers these services to other contractors, Benny Mitchell, co-owner, says they do not compete, but rather form alliances with those customers. ?We help them with their business and offer them services that they don?t have, or cover for them when they are booked up ? it?s a winning situation for everyone in the end.?
