ROC L8 increases versatility in sampling and blast-hole drilling

Sampling work using the reverse circulation method is becoming increasingly common in open pit mines. So is the use of Atlas Copco drill rigs in order to get high performance and rapid results. Maurice Jones visited Ghana?s gold fields to see the equipment in action.

In the gold mines of Ghana, ore sampling or ?grade control? is of vital importance to ensure mining efficiency and ore recovery, as well as accurate planning of the excavation.

The Atlas Copco ROC L8 surface crawler rig has a widespread reputation for versatility and efficiency in all types of surface mining and West Africa is no exception. In the current boom, characterized by high gold prices and increased opportunities, mine operators and contractors in the region have not lost sight of the need for maximum efficiency. As a result, the ROC L8 is being used for rapid grade control work as well as blast hole production drilling.

Epiroc operated under the trademark “Atlas Copco” prior to January 1, 2018.
